Let’s Talk About Vine

Posted by aonenetworks On April 15, 2013

Twitter’s Vine is described as “the best way to see and share life in motion,” and companies are already flocking to it to see how they can make it work for them. At the very least, Vine is an application that can be downloaded to absolutely any device, including tablets, smartphones, and regular computers (though several devices are still pending design and app release). Then, users can view and skim through six second videos that have been uploaded to Vine.

Why You Should Consider Vine

Vine isn’t just another video app. Short, easy-to-control videos define this app, much like 140 characters is the lifeblood of Twitter. Vine is easy and simple to use: if you’re using a device to record a video, simply hold a button for a few short moments, take your video, and upload it in one click. It’s really that simple. If you don’t want to create a video and upload it, you can also create a GIF and then post to Vine’s website as well as Instagram and Facebook.

In addition, you don’t really have to know anything about video recording to make amazing videos. Creativity is the main way to make your video shine, not fancy editing skills and the ability to give your video sound.

Several large companies are doing it already. CBS and USA Today are only two of the dozens of companies that have already made Vine videos. The first video teaser went up a few weeks ago (for the movie “The Wolverine”), and though these videos are far from works of art, they are the beginning of an entirely different and interesting form of social media – one that both satisfies the “instant gratification” needs of those who use the Internet and the amusement factors, too.

If large companies are starting to use Vine to their advantage, that means you can, too. Some experts are calling Vine the next big social media outlet, especially since Twitter eventually plans on allowing embedded links on its own website as well as Instagram.

Vine might be small, but many are saying it won’t stay that way. Hopping on the bandwagon now guarantees that you’ll be among the first to learn to control and use this website to your advantage, meaning that you’ll be miles ahead of those who hop on later.
