Communicating: One Way to Form Tight Bonds Among Your Employees

Posted by aonenetworks On October 25, 2013

If your employees don’t like one another, it’s hard for them to work together. This goes for being shy or on the fringes of an organization as well – it’s hard to really interact and enjoy the people around you. So how do you encourage your employees to just that? Though there are a number of ways to go about this, communication is a great place to start. Encouraging open communication between you and your employees will help open up the talking between one another.

Communication Between One Another

There doesn’t have to be just one type of communication. Formal and informal communication both have a place at any company that chooses to employ a number of people. You should have at least two or three meetings a year to discuss communication and to open up the floor to those who have complaints or suggestions that the company might benefit from. It can be a challenge, especially if being away from the phones can lose business.

Still, find a way to open up communications. One of the most popular ways is to have a Chat and Chew. Bring food for your office and start off the meeting with one question: “how’s it going?” It should get a good conversation started, and if it doesn’t, you can always hop in and tell them how you’re doing, too. Talk about anything and everything. Set up an internal website or private email that allows employees to talk to you without feeling like someone might overhear. You can even send personal letters out that talk about what you and your family is doing, and include personal details about yourself. Knowing someone always helps employees when they need to talk about something.
